Hey Waxman, Will you be pulling the motors in the water at your moorage, or in a boatyard? If you're going to haul out to do it, the yard will have, or can rent, a boom truck that can reach in through a side window. I think it would be quite an ordeal to get a motor out through the hatch to the afterdeck, and it would be a long reach to go through the aft bay window.
And I agree that the gears should come off before the motors come out. Manifolds too, since you'll probably be replacing them anyway...and then there's the tanks...you can get exact replacements from the company that made them, if it's a Bellingham boat.
