Hi all, I have a 42 with cummins VT555's (triple Nickles) and twin disc transmissions and am wondering the benefit of a transmission pressure gauge. The transmission low pressure warning sensor tweets whenever I shift. I was told by my yard that there is a temporary drop in pressure each time I shift and this tweet lets me know that the sensors are working. I have owned the boat 21 years and the transmissions have been flawless.
Also I am now retired and would like to learn how to perform preventative maintenance on the transmission. What needs to be done and how often? Thanks foe your help.
