Hey guys, I am wondering the benefit of a transmission oil gauge? I have twin cummins VT 555's (triple nickles) with twin discs. The oil pressure sensors "tweet" indicating a low pressure warning every time I shift. I was told by my yard that there is a temporary drop in pressure when you shift and this tweet lets me know that the pressure warning system is working. I have owed the boat 21 years and the transmissions have been flawless.
Also now that I'm retired I would like to do my own preventive maintenance on the transmissions and wondered what should be done and how often.. Any thoughts? Anyone have instructions on maintenance?
