hi Thomas,

        i used the attached shell script with the latest snapshot of
unionfs and a 2.6.11 kernel. it seems to be working fine. This is what i
got for the commands that you had mentioned:

ls -1 | head -1
total 0

ls -l | wc -l
501

ls -l | head -2
total 0
-rw-r--r--      1       root    root    0       Sep 23  14:30 This is a
very long pathname to test unionfs here we go 0

All the files have been created in the .data0 directory.
could you send us more information or check if the attached shell script
works for you ?
