The real fix is implementing mmap. Hopefully, we'll get that done by the end of the winter break (late January.) I know there are some patches but I have no idea how good they are. Right now, the plan is to first clear the backlog of list/bugzilla bugs, and fix/finish the imap work. Then release a "stable" unionfs. After which we'll look at mmap.
