As far as I know, the two issues are unrelated.
Right now, the version breakdown is this:
1.0.x => 2.4/2.6
1.1.x => < 2.6.16
1.2.x => trying to keep up with kernel development (currently
2.6.16 only)
We'll try to release one-version only type releases (release for 2.6.16
coming soon.)
