While its true that Historic Commission members will say that they do not regulate colors, Laura Spina also wrote in an email that: "The Commission regulates storm doors and windows. Storm doors should be made of wood and be fully glazed so the historic door can be seen. Storm windows must match the shape and size of the existing window; if it has a muntin bar, it should match the meeting rail of the existing window, and the color should match the color of the existing window trim." So if you want a pink storm door and green trim, too bad. I believe they also regulate the color of painted masonry and stucco, but I don't have a reference for this now. If at some point they decide to start dictating all colors there's nothing anybody can do about except start the process of getting their neighborhood un-designated.
