I'm not so convinced about police helicopters. (That is, I'm not sure we'd all agree.) Do they really catch people better by helicopter than by having beat cops walking the streets, etc? Would that kid have been kidnapped at all, for example, if there'd been a cop walking nearby, or likely to have been? U.S. law enforcement often makes the argument that they just need more fire power to keep us safe.
