actually, it's funny seeing any of the comments about the 
new movie theater. I remember when the old amc budco (now 
cinemagic) had regular first-run movies (like jaws and 
apocalypse now and risky business and annie hall and 
aladdin) in two of its theaters and used the third for 
repertory cinema (nightly double features by genre, 
director, or star -- you could catch your hitchcocks, 
wertmullers and altmans; your james deans and liz taylors; 
your animations, silents, and musicals, etc.) for two bucks 
a pop. you could pick up the season's schedule at the local 
acme (remember that?), at the lame duck used bookstore 
(remember that?), at marty's that had everything (remember 
that?) or at edens where you could grab a quick bite or have 
an after-movie coffee (remember that?).

and now there's a new movie theater in our midst. along with 
a new supermarket. a new used bookstore. a new cvs. plus new 
places for quick bites and after-movie coffees. funny, all 
these new things!
