Segway units are supposedly not sold without a training and orientation period. (Just because Amazon does it, does not reflect the policy of Segway itself.)
From the Segway web site:
"What will the agenda include at my Orientation?
Orientation will take approximately 2 hours and will include three sessions.
Welcome and Overview Learning (you will be taught to use your Segway HT) Practice Ride and Additional Coaching
In the end, we will have a final wrap-up and then the next step is sending you your machine! Your machine will arrive within 8-10 days after orientation."
