Recently I was at a showing of "Hollywood Homicide" featuring, among others, Harrison Ford and Eric Idle in a dress. (Eric Idle was in the dress, not Harrison Ford. Eric Idle was shown briefly being booked in an LA police station and complaining that he was "just doing research.") Anyway, Harrison Ford plays a detective and in one sequence he is chasing the bad guy on a bicycle (Harrison Ford is on the bike, not the bad guy.) He passes a stopped taxi on the right and gets doored by a little old lady getting out of the rear passenger side. He goes flying, then hijacks the cab and continues his pursuit. Maybe it's just our recent discussion about dooring that made the scene so poignant, but now I'm wracking my memory for other famous dooring incidents in the cinema. There must be lots but I just can't think of them for the moment.
