To the list: I am NOT an expert in Vietnamese food, but I found the food at the new place at 43rd and Spruce mixed. A friend had just introduced me to Le Cyclo at 7th and Washington, where I had had sensational spring roles and pho (Vietnamese soup). I was hoping for comparable dishes at our local place. I thought the spring rolls were good, but the pho was a disappointment. I selected the version with several kinds of beef. The broth was quite tasty, but the meat was so full of gristle that it was literally impossible to eat. I am not generally fussy about a bit of gristle; I am talking about masses of gristle that even protracted chewing could not break down into morsels that could be swallowed. If Le Cyclo is deserves an A, then the new place would in my opinion get a B-.
Just one opinion based on a very limited experience. Glad that others seem to have had better luck with their selections than I had with the beef pho!
