I was considering registering when confronted with the T&C...
"... You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised."
Wow, I haven't seen that kind of Autocratic control for a while... looks like it was written by <insert your favorite demon here>!
I wonder if the authors of the statement (assumed to be the webmaster, administrator and moderators) realize that by taking editorial control of the content, they become libel for the content? They loose their "common carrier" status, despite their declaring that they have no liability. Editing is quite different from deleting, moving or closing.
And if the information (assumed to be the posting) "will not be disclosed to any third party without my consent" -- one wonders why it will be visible on the website; unless the simple act of posting implies consent and thereby rendering the entire statement ridiculous and meaningless.
Terms and Conditions can cause so much fun anytime you bother to read them... especially when agreeing to them is a requirement for participation.
