I can't believe it but you are right about Siam Lotus's being open in the 80s. I remember eating there. They made a perfect Perfect Manhattan and the food was OK too, very small like the little places along 2nd street between Market and Chestnut.

I also would not recommend the Pad Thai Shack for their namesake dish. I had it over the summer and was quite disappointed. Probably not an option for you tonight since it is a bit far and I don't think they deliver, but there is a beautiful new Thai place in the 900 block of Spring Garden called Siam Lotus. Apparently, the restaurant was open back in the '80's and the people that used to own it are partners with the new guy and also work in the kitchen. I thought the food there, including the pad thai, was much better than at Pattaya, Lemongrass or Thai Singha. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jonathan Cass" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Wed, 22 Oct 2003 13:55:06 -0400 To: "''Daniel Widyono''" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: RE: [UC] pad-thai? > I would not recommend the Pad Thai Shack based on my pad thai experience > there several years ago.
