Brian,
The trick is to isolate what is unique about Philly:
1. The Art Museum.
2. City Hall and it 80 story tower (on tour during the day).
3. Manayunk and the South Street shopping districts with their unique stores
and restaurants.
4. Local clubs and bars with local bands.
5. Old City Historic District carriage rides.
6. The ENIAC display (and sometimes a tour) at the UPenn School of
Engineering.
7. Getting your picture taken with Ben Franklin reading a newspaper at
Locust Walk and 37th.
8. Shows at he the Tuttleman Omniverse theater, one of very few IMAX
theaters in the U.S.
9. The Franklin Institute, nuff said.
10. The Academy of Natural Sciences.
11. College basketball an Temple, St. Joe's, Villanova, La Salle and Drexel.
12. First Friday at the Old City art district and other art galleries in the
city like Space 1026 and ICA. Granted other cities do this, but very few.
13. You fill in the rest!!!

There's some nice spots around the Art Museum area that might work,
there's the region around 2nd and 3rd streets just north of Market, and
then there's Manyunk, which makes for a nice stroll up and down the main
drag. That's all I can think off offhand, which probably makes me a
really boring date.
