You seem to be saying all these variations of
"The lifestyles of the rich & famous"
are driven by larger advertising revenues
and that advertisers are impacting content

I never considered that before.

Commercial television's intended purpose is to make you want things
that you didn't want before.  That's what "commercials" do.  And the
programs are designed to make the commercials effective.  A lot of
money and effort goes into designing programs and commercials that
will be extremely effective in making you want things that you didn't
want before.

So, why do people voluntarily subject themselves to this?
