I think the pizza at that place at 40th & Spruce is great. . . can't remember the name. . .

While I waited, it seemed like the delivery guy was always showing up and telling the boss that the people he was delivering to weren't there, or claimed they hadn't ordered anything. A few minutes later the people at the correct address would call to find out where their pizza was.... I've switched to Royal for strombolis, but the answer to the quality of pizza question seems to be that there is no good pizza in West Philly! All of the places mentioned seem to make the oily, undersauced, soggy-crusted 'Greek style' pizza. I think Pizza Rustica at 36 and Chestnut is the local best, in a highfalutin kind of way, but we don't seem to have a really GOOD parlor. Of course, I'm defining GOOD pizza as the thin-crusted floppy NYC stuff one gets at Lorenzos on South, or Marios in Mt. Airy.
