Today, at 10 a.m., City Council was supposed to continue with tax reform
hearings.  My son Scott was interested, and I wanted to go with him, thinking I
hadn't done enough recently for this issue, which is important to me.  At 9:45,
I called Councilman Kenney's office to confirm that the hearing was going to
take place - yes, they said, at 10:00, in Council chambers.

When we arrived, we were told that the hearing had now been rescheduled for
noon!  With a bit of grumbling, we got back on the trolley and came to my
office in Powelton to do a little work.  At 11:45, we got back on the trolley and
arrived at City Hall again at noon - only to find that the hearings had now
been changed to 2 p.m.  This time, we ran into a woman I know, who was going to
be attending on behalf of the company for which she works, so she gave me her
cell phone number so I could check in with her about the 2 p.m. time rather
than taking the trolley again without confirmation.
>blah, blah, blah

We need tax reform now!  Why won't they hear us?

Maybe somebody tipped them off that you were planning to attend?
