As previously stated, my personal experience with Cavalier has been entirely positive. The service transferred w/o a hitch and was active on the date Cavalier originally represented. I was able to set up the modem without any significant trouble and everything has worked fine. My only beef is the previously $7.00 federal line charge. I have not needed them to come out to the house for anything (other than the pole hookup if that was even necessary) so I can't speak to that aspect of their service.
Roger- if you find out the scoop with the service available from Campus Apartments I would appreciate your posting it to the list - specifically the boundaries and other specifics re: who can obtain the service. My good friends use Cavalier for phone/internet/long distance, and if their experience has been any indication, stay FAR FAR AWAY from Cavalier. I can't think of a single positive experience they've had, from trying to schedule someone to come out to do the install (and getting them to actually show up) to customer service woes for weeks at a time to service outages to horrendously slow DSL speeds... total disaster. I won't detail all of the horror stories here, and certainly every carrier has its own problems, but I've been thoroughly unimpressed with Cavalier's desire to retain its customers. They just don't seem to care. -- Matthew Snyder Philadelphia, PA ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
