Hey - does anyone have the full number of that ethics bill, or the date it
was discussed in Council? I keep track of all these for my Department, and
for the life of me - I cannot find it on my list. Any further info about
that bill (discussed in the messages below) would be useful and much
appreciated. Thanks.

Hah! Jannie support an ethics bill?
One of my favorite examples of Jannie's ethics was apparent when bill 629
came up for consideration, and the UCCC took the extraordinary step of
inviting the general public, along with Blackwell, to hear public opinion
on it. At the end there was a general vote. The only person to vote in
favor of the billboards was the lawyer representing the billboard
companies (the real sponsor of the bill). At least 75 people were
opposed. Jannie knew that a lot of people there were representatives from
local community groups, so each no vote represented a larger opinion.
Jannie voted in favor of the bill anyway. John Street, in one of his few
useful actions as mayor, vetoed it. Kind of funny, eh?
