One thing that always puzzles me about this local Republican slime campaign orchestrated by Karl Rove is that "pay-to-play" is the name of the game in Washington politics, more among Republicans than Democrats, but definitely the name of the game.   Halliburton has been paying to play for years, and they get tiny slaps on the wrist.
