Luckily the Drexel students weren't hurt, so the list will be able to make jokes about this for days, but if we have to cross the street every time we see a Penn student approaching, we're all going to be in danger of getting hit by cars.

About my perhaps obscure joke earlier: I certainly didn't mean to bow to the Penn students as the elite. It was meant tongue in cheek, Karen, a joke! I'm a Temple grad, after all. We all know of - we've lamented on this list - the foolish, racist, stereotypical reaction some people have when they see a black man on the sidewalk - they think that they should cross the street to avoid him. My joke was that the REAL people we should be crossing the street to avoid are the Penn students. I sort of combined that with an argument Penn made some years ago when they wanted to ban the vending trucks - one of th eir "points" against the trucks was "Penn students step out into the street between the trucks, and they get hit by cars." Okay, too obscure. But nobody ever said, and certainly I didn't, that there would be so many UCD ambassadors that no crimes would be committed, if the landlords - not you, Karen, the landlords with four or more UC units - paid an assessment.
