Dear neighbors, On Monday, I was able to successfully listen to part of the tape from the Oct. 23, Architectural committee of the PHC. Here is the exact quote from Mr..Olshin, the architect testifying for the Penn team and its Hilton:
Mr. Olshin: . "when we met with Spruce Hill Zoning Association twice for public open forums we made a presentation". I, Glenn Moyer, swear before the Gods of heaven and earth that those are the exact words delivered to and recorded by the PHC on Oct. 23, 2007. I was told the Nov 9 proceedings reaffirming this lie were unavailable to me, the public. Additionally, Mr. Forte, the lead attorney for the Lussenhop team described the letters of support representing the "majority of neighbors." Here we see another deception that shows contempt for both renters and residents. The letters of support were from a few corporate property owners associated with the BID, not a majority of "neighbors." Timeline update: The plan for the 10-story hotel was developed after the July 13 rejection of the secret attempt at de-listing the "dilapidated" property. Lussenhop started the application at the "beginning of the summer." The "sun study" was conducted at winter and summer solstice and spring and fall equinox. Dec. 21, 2006 then was the first data for the sun study and represents the first known date of the project. But how was the "study" data relevant to a plan which was developed after July 13, 2007???? And changed again sometime before Nov. 9, 2007? We didn't know Lussenhop was trying to demolish the property. We never saw the plans that included de-listing which were guiding the "sun study" started in 2006. We simply know that these were not the same plans. I am forced to conclude the power point presentation of the "sun study" twice offered by Penn to be, smoke and mirrors. Sincerely, Glenn Moyer, citizen witness
