Absolutely true for the north face of the building. But the north face has always been in its own shadow. Zoning concern only applies to the impact of shadow on other people's properties. The government does not regulate casting a shadow on yourself! The east face of the restored mansion would be in shadow in the afternoon. Currently the unrestored east face is encrusted in crud, 24 hours a day. -- Tony West this means the restored mansion is pretty much in permanent shadow during the daytime, all year round.
