Dear Tony, Glenn et.al.,
While I agree with your advice Tony for Glenn to be gentle with our
neighbors when asking the hard questions, I would pose another condition.
I would wish the longtime leaders of our UC Civic Associations would
acknowledge the fact that they have been exclusive, unavailable when
suitable, and most times unwilling to consider points of view contrary to
their vision of development of our community. They should admit their
conduct has been the chief reason for ostracized, outside opposition.
I am glad and very grateful to Barry Grossbach has acknowledged Glenn's
request for a more open community meeting with regard to the 40th & Pine
hotel proposal.
Now that things are safe and secure to clinch their vision of our area,
(after so many years), they can certainly afford to be gracious.
Still, I would hope they would admit their behavior and political actions
gave birth, contributed to and continued the opposition they have despised
and sought to neutralize.
There should be an exchange and reconciliation on both sides as to what
has
brought us here all along.
The ball is not just in one court.

Thanks Wilma. Your comments identify the root of the struggles, which erupt
around Penn's projects in this neighborhood. At the center of those
struggles are the usual processes of our civic clubs, which you hit on the
head.
But this is a very important part of the picture too.
West's advice was not advice.
Lauren L.'s question, "is this about you or the community" was not some
simple ingenuous question.
And 99's, pseudo-feminist, indignation towards me was more of the same. (my
use of the word gal to Lauren was a response to a childish ridiculous
question, not a gender insult. Women too can be childish and ridiculous.)
I should thank these three, however; in their own way, they are
demonstrating the importance of my questions!
Wilma, as you know, my questions about secret deliberations and secret votes
are immensely difficult for SHCA, FOCP, and their supporters. This secret
deliberation and vote process is at the center of their ability to abuse
power. The abusers of power cannot possibly justify their demands for
secrecy and exclusiveness in open civil debate!!!!!
The posts are targeted at my character, like usual, to distract from that
fact. The meaning of these posts is that my questions are forbidden.
Do these pot shots offer evidence of my bad character from anything in my
text? Do they show my questions to be frivolous or unfair like Lauren's?
Absolutely not, because they can't.
My god, I thanked Barry for responding and changing venues even though the
usual tricks were first attempted. SHCA only changed the venue and put an
announcement in the paper after Karen Allen exposed the early unacceptable
attempt on the list! Otherwise, what would have happened next Wed?
They were exposed trying to stage a presentation and insult us with the
gentle "tranquilizer" insinuation! Of course, it's common knowledge in the
civic gangs that dissenters are wild out of control animals in need of
sedation and control. Ah, Barry's gentleness!
Nevertheless, I immediately acknowledged and thanked Barry for an extremely
small movement towards a fairer, more inclusive process.
The pointing at my character is meant to intimidate everyone from daring to
question the power elite. West knows that I won't be intimidated. Those
posts above are meant to intimidate all the other people on the list!!
Essentially, you and other readers are being notified that you will receive
personal attacks if you dare to question the concentration of power solely
for the good neighbors. We may shout as they often do, but don't politely
and assertively question their abuse of power.
And it's important to consider all of the other people on our list whom have
had their characters attacked for asking forbidden questions! Everyone who
asks forbidden questions is insulted and attacked. In fact, your post makes
you a target. Remember how this was done before the gang was laying low on
Penn's censored list?
I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that my character would be targeted when
exposing the dependence on secret deliberations and secret votes. I wasn't
positive when I first asked the deliberation questions, but the fear and
anger behind the three posts seem to confirm the planned treachery.
My questions were never answered and the ad hominem distraction is being
attempted as always. I'm a very very evil person and everyone must ignore
the question of secret deliberations and secret votes next Wed. Or anyone
else will be classified as evil too. The members of the listserv got
warnings. I received no honest or credible advice on civility.
