Yes it was inspiring!

The great thing about this community had always been the one community formed by this "mix of people." During the years university "marketing" told the world that we were a ghetto, the residents joining that mix called this a "great place" to live. In retrospect, I realize now that the U. was softening up the real estate market with that ghetto crap while it was pretending a duty in loco parentis.

What I call the Penn process to take over and transform the community is attempting to bust up that mix of people using the most contemptible divide and conquer strategy. Penn anointed a tiny minority to bulldoze its agenda over the real community. Who really knows what stake the anointed have in the corporate agenda?

We are watching the divide and conquer strategy play itself out daily on the list. Those losing their strangle hold as "neighborhood powerbrokers" are now desparate and getting meaner.

It's clear why these powerbrokers continuously lie about conducting open public meetings. They are terrified of that mix of people coming together; they are terrified by the strength of the real community; they are terrified of democratic processes!

Power to the people! Power to West Philadelphia!

I hope others will join with me in pointing out that the people who came to listen and share their comments at last week's public shca meeting included renters as well as homeowners, natives as well as students.
