We use Dr. David Tecosky who graduated from UPenn Dental School. All of us including my nephew and my mother (when she was alive and living with us) found him to be very caring and proficient.
I noticed he reviewed her medical records when she moved to Philadelphia was very careful about the medications that my mother was taking and always inquired about her health (checked with me as well as her) after her stroke to be sure that his procedures would not adversely affect her. When I had a dental emergency, his wife answered the phone and called him while he was out of town at a conference and got back to me. He fit me in the first thing when he returned from the conference the next day. There was one person in my family who he did not treat. When my son was about two, he had twelve cavities!! This was part of a whole series of medical problems that he had which resulted in him being in and out of the hospital many times before his 3rd birthday. Dr. Tecosky attempted to treat him but found it too difficult (my son screamed loudly and persistently at any one in a white coat). He wisely referred him to a pediatric dentist. He is very personable. I know all about his two daughters who are the age of my two sons and we have followed each others' children through college now. He knows that my husband is a high school science teacher and gave him some books that my husband was able to use. Dr. Tecosky is active in the dental community (on various professional boards) and active in the community where his office is located (he does not live in that community though). To be honest, I chose him because he was recommended, BUT also because there was parking (as opposed to center city). Nowadays that area (Fairmount-Art Museum area) is "growing" and parking is not as easy (though still available). I highly recommend him.
