A little more information. Was there no actual crime, or were the police using improper force? If so, maybe i need to get back into the habit of stopping to watch and take mental notes every time i see someone being arrested.
Is this an emerging pattern of violence? Maybe i should never go to Clark Park without my dog. Maybe i should worry about my young godchild, who plays there almost every day. Is it possible that the adolescents who spent all last summer harrassing my housemates, vandalizing my house, and smashing every third car window on the block are back in action? Then it's time to have the "eyes on the street" conversation with my immediate neighbors again. Was someone seriously injured? I'd like to keep that person in my thoughts. You know, just a little real gossip for yet another nosy neighbor. j --- On Fri, 7/11/08, SKnight <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: SKnight <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [UC] police in Clark Park / arrest at 44th and Locust To: "Jimmi Badger" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [email protected] Date: Friday, July 11, 2008, 9:48 PM What is helpful and untired? sk ----- Original Message ----- From: Jimmi Badger To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, July 11, 2008 2:31 PM Subject: Re: [UC] police in Clark Park / arrest at 44th and Locust Mark, please spare us all the conspiracy theories and pseudo-radical cynicism. They're as tired and unhelpful as the "this is the city, get used to it" line. j --- On Fri, 7/11/08, [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: [UC] police in Clark Park / arrest at 44th and Locust To: [email protected] Date: Friday, July 11, 2008, 11:38 AM > When I rode by yesterday around 8.30, there were two cars already on the playground and four more on the way. You didn't see *anything*, Jimmi. Okay? University City has a VERY low crime rate! On the same topic: I ALSO didn't see a man being arrested for armed robbery right outside of my house last night at 11:15pm. The dozen police cars (marked, un-marked, and undercover) blocking Locust St. just west of 44th must've been a figment of my imagination. University City has barely any crime at all. Mark
