One of the best house cleaners I know, Barry S., is looking for work.
The pluses:
He is methodical, loves deep cleaning bathrooms and uses knee pads so he can
concentrate on complex baseboard molding, and he understands hardwood floors
and how to make them gleam. (Watching cleaners treat hardwood like vinyl gets
old fast.) You supply the Broom, Vacuum and Paper Towels. He brings his own
cleaners and small tools.
He speaks perfect, South Philly English, (I recognize the oxymoron), saving
lots of time on translation and supervision.
He is willing to do "one shot" jobs. He likes to make at least $100-$150 / day
and will work 5 to 8 hours. He is ideal for Apartment make-readies. Near
neighbors might share him for a day, for any division of 5-8 hours. He is
willing to split his work over two apartments in the same building, or two
homes on the same block.
The Minuses:
He takes a short break once an hour to go outside and "catch a smoke". This
lasts about 5 minutes / hour. He does not smoke inside.
He lives in a Shelter so messages must filter through folks like me or his
local friend, Andre Kochs. If anyone wants me to pass on a phone number, let
me know, by E-reply or cell, 215-880-2930.
If you interrupt his work to engage him in a conversation, it becomes obvious
why he lives in a shelter. He is a damaged fellow, recovering from years of
addictions. Please note: Nothing has ever gone missing, while he has worked
for me. And, he is currently sober, and says he has been for several months.
He works at a steady, effective pace and is not likely to interrupt an employer.
Barry is working to move from the shelter, to a room or efficiency apartment.
He is motivated. He has kept his appointments with me. I do not give him
keys, but I trust him to clean my home and my vacant "make readies" for my
clients. He needs work.
This is an opportunity to spend your bucks in a way that buys good value, and
provides work opportunity where there is need and cleaning talent.

All the best!
