Correction:
It's not the Uniform Commercial Code of the United States. It's just the
Uniform Commercial Code -- which is actually an unofficial document but has
been
adopted in its entirety or with modification by the various states and
incorporated into their own laws. Pennsylvania was -- I think -- the first
state
to adopt it (1954).
Also, it applies strictly to tangible goods (I'm unclear about "services"
offered to the public) rather than "real property" but the spirit -- holding
professionals responsible for the consequences of their business decisions,
seems to be accepted in a broader sense.
Maybe one of our attorney "members" can be more specific.
