Neighbors,

Jennifer Jones has a good essay about the enormous health benefits of eating
dandelions and other, so called weeds, in today's UC Review. I sent her a
warning about Clark Park through the Weekly Press. If anyone knows her
group, please warn them about the years of herbicides dumped in Clark Park!!

I live across from Clark Park and don't know if the other parks controlled
by UCD have also been poisoned. Some people who understand the health
benefits of the divine plants, murdered as weeds, believe that the health
benefits still outweigh the toxicity of possible chemicals. (The people in
her group are probably safe in Clark Park because the dandelions have been
wiped out.)

On our public list, Brian Siano of FOCP recently responded to my request for
the names of the chemicals dumped over the years with this statement:

"The landscapers don't use herbicides on Clark Park. They pull weeds by
hand."

The rhetorical technique of Siano's response deserves a closer look at some
other time. He never answered my question about the names of the chemicals.
Readers are to view my question as that of an uniformed outsider. Yet he
didn't deny the history of poisons. The original question:

Did anyone ever uncover the name of the particular "safe" herbicides
dumped
in Clark Park since UCD has controlled the park?

Of course, FOCP will protect the secrecy of UCD since the community has
turned its back on FOCP, and because UCD is the source of their leaders
illusion of power!

Has the subcontractor, for the UCD subcontractor, stopped using herbicides
this past spring? It's hard to tell. The dandelions can not be found in
park A. However, Sam and I did see that clovers are attempting a comeback,
at least in part of park A. Most of these poisons, designed for suburban
lawns, also target clover so possibly our "noise" last fall has gotten them
to stop the bi-annual poisoning. The last reported use was last fall.

Unfortunately, the UCD refused to answer my e-mail request to attend the
secret Clark Park Partnership. If you've gone to any meetings of the
anointed lately, you may have seen the newest UCD director give a little
speech about UCD's commitment to transparency-haha. Do you think UCD will
allow us to look at their files about the contract with Moon-haha?

I suspect that their experts never knew what was being dumped on Clark Park!
Like the Fenton affair, these bumbling "experts" don't care about what they
do until the shit hits the fan. As long as they're getting corporate money
to claim salvation of our criminal wasteland, they don't care what they do!

Glenn
