Hi,

April 3-5, Philadelphia is hosting a national "Brownfields" conference,

http://www.brownfields2011.org/

and in conjunction, there's a group organizing a "Soil Kitchen" based in a
restaurant-space at 2nd and Girard. The idea is people bring in samples of
soil from around the city, and can have soup while they wait for the test
results.

It looks like EPA testing (for inorganic metals; chromium, nickel, cooper,
zinc, lead, cadmium, antimony and tin) is available April 1-5, 11am-6pm. The
best webpage to start from is

They also have workshops, etc., listed elsewhere in the site.
