Here is Daniel Denvir on Democracy Now talking about the Philadelphia school closings. You'll remember Kimm posted his excellent history and analysis of the sabotage of Philadelphia public schools in the City Paper. Journalism is so rare in Philadelphia.

Like Denvir points out, the corporate neoliberal agenda against public education is very bipartisan. People need to also recognize that the privatization of parks and public spaces, the privatization of government via special service districts, and the neofeudal control of dysfunctional civic association gangs are part of the same bipartisan corporate neoliberal movement! Corporate welfare, regresssive taxation, the police state, and gentrified city centers are part of it too! All of this fascist movement is decided by 0.1% of the population.

But until more Americans and Philadelphians recognize that these attacks are a single fascist movement, we will continue to be divided and continue to lose all of these struggles and hope! I know it's unpleasant, but people also need to confront the foot soldiers for the corporate agenda, and be willing to show some courage to speak against the lies, brutality and propaganda which the corporate pawns use to oppress most of us!
