"Grass seed will be spread in the volleyball area. (NOTE: Since the PlanCom meeting, Bryan Haines, Frank Chance and others have spread the grass seed and installed “Keep off the Grass” signs.)"
Note: Volleyball players were never allowed at the secret park redesign meetings. Mr Chance and the FOCP leaders need to place those "keep off" signs where they really belong...

Now that the privatization of our parks and the loss of our rights as citizens is right out in the open, the Penn propaganda machine can not hide the betrayal of our so called civic leaders. The UCD/FOCP/SHCA can no longer hide behind the lies and false intentions that they have used against the people of this neighborhood for over ten years. So what are they doing now?
After the closed corporate driven "Clark Park Partnership" was formed and the fence closed off Clark Park A, and the redesign of Clark Park commenced;
the FOCP started sending announcements to the public list for "transparency." Now, their poorly announced meeting, about the forced relocation of our brothers and sisters in Clark Park and across the entire city, is claimed to be a desire for "community voices"
It's not just you, yes, they waited until it was too late! The UCD/FOCP/SHCA are going to attempt to avoid accountability for barring the public from their secret deals, and are claiming that the Parks and Recreation leaders alone decided against the constitution and performed some sophisticated process to justify the new permit laws.
You can be sure that the 3 FOCP leaders will claim to have heroically defended the rights of the citizens of Philadelphia but were overruled and blameless. All of it is a lie! Shame, shame, shame!
I personally documented on this public listserv, that the exact set of new permit laws being used against the people of Philadelphia now, were advanced by the UCD/FOCP/SHCA leaders back in 2002 at the Quality of Life Task Force! They told you I was a crazy liar and that this never happened. However, there is a long public record of me blowing the whistle about this very permit scheme for an entire decade. I publically reported the exact details years ago!
Please think about what they did. None of the Clark Park groups being targeted for forced relocation were allowed to attend any of the secret meetings over the past decade. The master plan steering committee first announced an intention to redesign Clark Park in 2000 AD, but was a closed corporate assembly before it was even publically anounced. The FOCP leaders fought viciously to keep all park stakeholders banned from all of the secret meetings and engaged in vicious ad hominem attacks against me for blowing the whistle. But everyone knows the truth about the closed meetings. Were you ever given the time, date, and location of the secret dealings? Were you ever told the truth about their involvement or intentions???
That was what the FOCP/UCD/SHCA leaders did to us for over ten years. Is their new found interest in transparency and neighborhood voices believable? Was it a simple mistake that they started the list anouncements only after our participation in the park decisions was neutralized?
You will remember that all of us, as well as the Clark Park groups, were dehumanized in the Penn propaganda machine and FOCP newsletters and called "prostitutes, gangs, and drug addicts" History showed us what this dehumanizing process will always lead to, but we forgot that history mattered! Native Americans were dehumanized before the forced relocations, like the trail of tears. Various groups of people were dehumanized before the forced relocations in Europe during the 30s and forties. And we should have known that a forced relocation of our neighbors would occur the moment they were falsely labled "prostitutes, gangs, and drug addicts!
I personally warned our civic leaders that we would one day remember their betrayal and tactics when the shit hit the fan. Please don't react to them with the demons of vengence unleashing your anger. But the leaders of FOCP/SHCA must resign in shame and the organizations must be disbanded! UCD must be stripped of its 501 c 3 status and rdriven from this neighborhood so that Penn can be forced to pay its fair share to Philadelphia. Vengence is not what we must do, but we must unleash our anger and use it for a fight for justice and to revive the hope of the Bill of Rights! Please show some courage to your civic leaders. Future generations are depending on us now!!!
