Your idea of a pendulum of competing forces neither of which truly cares, and both of which distract from more serious issues, is most intriguing, very important, and I can neither affirm nor disprove it. A serious comparison of the two parties over the past decades I think shows WAY more selfish villainy originating among Republicans and much more heroic and caring behavior originating from the Democrats. Certainly only choosing others is not the highest path in the ways of the truth… but it is an important one for sure. > If you engage these extreme right wing operatives, as if they are "the other > side" on policy matters; I honestly believe you are simply wasting your time! It is essential to my philosophic and religious training to be willing to do so, at least to the extent that it serves teleologically towards goodness as a common cause. Thank you again for sharing, and allowing me to appreciate many other perspectives with you Glenn. I feel we are rather similar and shaped by similar forces and motivations. One of my chief complaints is your (over) use of hyperbole in assessing our distinctions. As many scientists say, what we share in common is an AMAZING amount, and oft overlooked. Distinction has its place, commonality too. Fare thee well!
