Hello, Neighbors --
I just ran into veterinarian Dr. Littlejohn dining with his warm and gracious
wife over at Aksum on Baltimore Avenue, and that reminded me to e-mail out to
recommend him. Dr. Littlejohn runs O'Neal's Animal Hospital at 44th and Market
Streets. Many people are surprised that we have a good veterinarian right here
in University City!
We've been taking our dogs to O'Neals for nearly 17 years. During these years,
he tended to our first dog when he survived a pit bull attack and later
suffered the indignities of aging, including the brain tumor that finally made
us decide to put him down. Dr. Littlejohn was with us throughout, giving us
sound guidance about our dog's well-being. There's also something to be said
about the fact that Dr. Littlejohn's two staffers, Annie and Pete, have been
with him all these years. Last but not least, Dr. Littlejohn has a deep love
for our neighborhood. He went to school at USP and Penn and knows our diverse
community very well.
Happy summer to all and their pets too!
