When I heard one of the terrorist pigs call the brave protesters in Missouri "animals," I remembered all the historical situations where dehumanization was used by the "good people" with power.
The earliest American literature that we can study are the sermons of puritans from the Massachusetts Bay Colony. One of their most important messages concerned the animal nature of the indigenous people they called savages. You see, good Christians have a commandment that "thou shalt not kill." But indigenous people are never "folks" but classified as part of the lesser animals, as outlined in the "great chain of being" from the neoclassical era. But animals are also a conduit for Satan to get a grasp on the world of the righteous. So killing the savage was not just acceptable according to the monotheist commandments, but actually a righteous act; doing the lord's will.

When the gentrification of this police district began, there was a propaganda blitz krieg that insisted that no one but "prostitutes, gangs, and drug dealers" infested Clark Park. Why would the self anointed civic association leaders back such an outrageous lie? Why would the local corporate university plaster the corporate media around the world with this dehumanizing message about the residents of West Philly?
I think the puritan sermons still provide the answer.
It is the good folks, who are responsible for the killer cops terrorizing and traumatizing our brothers and sisters around the country. We watched the good betray this community for some Judas silver and some pieces of fool's gold. They wanted the police to do bike raids and clear the neighborhood of poor people to make way for their beer gardens and pulled pork trucks. The abuse of animals and criminals was no concern of the good, who wanted a demolished and redesigned upscale community free of devilish animals.
Well, we now have the brutal terrorist police state that many of the good wanted. I hope those of you who remained silent during the dehumanizing process also celebrate the US that we are. I want to puke every time I hear Obama or other Republicans say, "it's not who we are" every time the empires' crimes against humanity are exposed.
Yes, we are the supporters of state/corporate sponsored terrorism! Do we like, who we really are?
