** Description changed: Using Hardy with kernel 2.6.27 Steps to reproduce: Dock your laptop, plug an external monitor into the dock and set up X to use both screens. Now press the undock button. (You will need the intrepid kernel; 2.6.24 freezes if you try to undock, see bug #189185.) When the light goes green, remove your laptop from the dock. Expected result: the system should return gracefully to a setup without an external monitor - e.g. bringing my panels back to the laptop screen. Actual result: the system appeared to hang. After returning it to the dock, it rebooted. UPDATE: I have tried to reproduce this but failed, so not sure what happened. However, it's definitely true that X does not figure out that my external monitor has gone away. Will possibly file an alternate bug. + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/PM/GMS, 943/940GML and 945GT Express Memory Controller Hub [8086:27a0] (rev 03) + Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T60/R60 series [17aa:2017] + 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:27a2] (rev 03) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) + Subsystem: Lenovo ThinkPad T60/R60 series [17aa:201a]
