Netbook-launcher is unusably slow with Ubuntu 9.04 on Eee pc 701, too. Steps to reproduce 0) I have an Asus EEE PC 701, Intel Celeron 900 MHz 32bit, BIOS American Megatrends Inc 0401 (10/17/2007), 512 MiB RAM (sudo lshw); and Sandisk 4 GB USB memory. 1) Downloaded latest 9.04 UNR image http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/mirrors/releases.ubuntu.com/9.04/ubuntu-9.04-netbook-remix-i386.img and wrote it to USB memory with dd 2) Booted eeepc701 from the USB stick (had to set boot order from BIOS settings F2); Chose "English", "Try ... without any change..." on boot menu. 3) After a while, normal desktop appeared and netbook-launcher covered most of the desktop
Expected operation: - I expected I could move my cursor normally over the icons on netbook-launcher What actually happened (the bug): - Cursor is very slow and jumpy. Program can be used very slowly. Jumpyness makes it too annoying for non-test usage. Further testing: - Started Accessories: Terminal. Cursor moves normally when terminal covers the screen - Ran 'top'. Suprisingly, netbook-launcher uses only 6% of memory and less than 0.1% of CPU when it's on the background and I'm using gnome-terminal. - Netbook-launcher version is 1.6.20-0ubuntu2 (dpkg --list netbook-launcher) -- netbook launcher slow again https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/358303 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs -- universe-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/universe-bugs
