Linux is easy.. if you can make the paradigm shift. The 'Unix Way' is a lot of simple tools instead of One Big Tool. This can be a bit tricky for people accustomed to other things to learn, but, then Windows confuses me to no end, so don't feel bad if you have problems grokking things... it happens in the other direction too. As for your wireless lan card, that's something Linux can cheat on... you actually really don't need to care if it has Linux support: there is a wrapper that will use Windows device drivers. See http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/ .. it's not always the easiest thing to get installed (but, then, setting up a router or access point to be secure is usually non-trivial, too...), but works well. If you can get a wired connection to the PC, I would recommend that, though. Less bandwidth on the air, and a lot less hassle and more reliable. -- snarlydwarf ------------------------------------------------------------------------ snarlydwarf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18037 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
