I tried the Michael Herger's Slim-cd on an old linux-PC for running slimserver on it. Looks impressive but I can't get it to stream music out of the hard disk. I can see the scanned music collection on web interface and can browse everything also on the player. But when I select anything for playing, the music will not start to stream. The player just says: "Now playing...." but nothing happens. All songs get stuck at the beginning. The very same player will work fine when connected to another slimserver running on a Windows machine.
On the Linux PC I have a hard disk where I have a large mp3 music collection on a 160 GB ext3 type of /dev/hda3 partition. So on the slimcd system I have mounted the /dev/hda3 and configured that for the slimserver. The partition appears to be well mounted on the system, all files have read permissions etc.. What might be wrong, why can't I get music to stream out? -- Ian Leiman ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ian Leiman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2264 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18148 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
