I am going to replace my aging PIII 1ghz running mandrake with a new box with an AMD ?sempron 64 or athlon 64 to run slimserver on Ubuntu (and a few other bits and bobs, as well as being my main desktop via VNC/freeNX).
I want the PC to be reasonably quiet as it lives in the room next to the bedroom - the very quiet hum becomes quite loud when you are trying to get to sleep even when it is the other side of a brick wall!
Does anyone have any reccomendation for quiet cases which also run cool as this will be a 24/7 box? I am probably looking for a case with 12cm fans and a power supply with a 12cm fan. Does anyone have any bargains in mind - it doesnt have to look good! But it does have to be cheap!
