Well if you generated your ssh key as it says in your post, you really
shouldn't be using telnet anymore. I would really recommand using SSH
instead. Under windows I'm using PuTTY for my ssh client.

PuTTY home page:

http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/

PuTTY 0.58 download:

ftp://ftp.chiark.greenend.org.uk/users/sgtatham/putty-latest/x86/putty.exe

Don't be fooled by the 0.58 version it's been stable for years.

Give it the ip of your box and click open, you'll get a warning the
first time that the fingerprint isn't not known just click ok (or
accept I don't rememeber). then login using what I assume is the root
user and the root password you entered when following the previous
instructions.

Hope that works for you!
