Mine's a P2/400 with 512M and handles 8k tracks and 2 SB2's just fine. Probably not the issue. > > As to running top while the error is occuring, slimserver.pl drops way > down to the bottom of the list and is using like .3% or something, I'll > have to try it again to get a number that's not from my memory. > Hrrm.. that is the issue: is it swapping or something? Slimserver should work fine on that hardware: is the drive local to the machine or is it USB or NAS? Could the drive I/O bandwith be the issue? (I don't know how SMB will behave if smbd is slow/non-responsive... it may be locking up on the machine, too, which is why permissions seem odd temporarily... the solution would be to figure out what the heck it's doing when so busy that smbd and slimserver get no cpu time). -- snarlydwarf ------------------------------------------------------------------------ snarlydwarf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19596 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
