I am not running any plugins (other than the standard ones that come with slimserver). It serves RSS feed when not playing, and I've tried a variety of screensavers while playing without problems.
I'm using the plain Kurobox (64 meg cheap one). I've had it for quite a few years now (pre HG by a long shot). I'm running the standard kurobox OS load, although I'm getting ready to drop a new and bigger hard drive into it and I may switch to debian. So far, the menus seem responsive, I haven't had any complaints. Is there anything that I could try that would be particularly taxing? I love the fact that I don't have to have a computer on at all, the kuro-box lives in my furnace room beside my telephone punch-block, cable modem, router, and network switch. BTW the kuro-box also serves up MP3's via mt-daapd and twonkyvision. The one thing I haven't tried doing is some serious file serving while listening. I'm guessing that could be a problem, but I'm not convinced.
