Is there any advantage to using a Dual CPU machine in terms of performance, I know SS is single threaded, but would the Kernel use one CPU whilst SS uses another? What about the ancillary programs (mplayer and other transcoding functions) would that benefit.
In the latter case I could imagine an advantage. Also if you're using MySQL as the database backend. But in standard slimserver environments you won't see any difference as it's single threaded.
Does Linux support dual CPU 'out of the box'.
