Hi, I'm pretty new to the linux system, but I'm having some problems with my Softsqueeze. I have the nightly build of slimserver 6.5 running on a debian (ubuntu) system. It natively installed softsqueeze 2.2. This worked fine, but I was having some sychronization problems with my squeezebox, so I read here on the forums that 2.3 solves some of the synchronization problems. I updated to 2.3 and my sych problem still persisted. As an aside, something (I don't know what) happened when I tried unsync'ing my SB and the softsqueeze. The slimserver hung, the SB hung, had to hard re-boot both to get back to normal. So, I then got the slimserver and SB back online. I read more on the forums and it said that the java sound server is slow and causes problems, and to switch to the ALSA driver. So I launched softsqueeze, changed the device, but there was no sound, plus softsqueeze disconnected from the slimserver and hung. I quit softsqueeze, tried launching it again, but it comes up with the splash screen, and then dissappears. I tried rebooting to no avail.
Ok, so then I get notification that a new nightly is out, I upgrade slimserver, which reverted softsqueeze back to 2.2, but the same behavior of splashscreen and then dissappearing happens with 2.2. Any ideas on how to get softsqueeze up and running again, then any ideas to get it synchronized. Thanks. -- verbatone ------------------------------------------------------------------------ verbatone's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3556 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=21959 _______________________________________________ unix mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/unix
