I'm running slimserver (for my squeezebox)on ubuntu 6. It came up

slimserver doing with mySQL?
by default, slimserver launches it's own instance of mysql. currently,
this is the ONLY configuration supported officially when it comes to
6.5.
it is possible to use it with your own mysql server, but you have to
create the db yourself so it is only for those who feel up for the
task. some tips are still found on the wiki from users who have done
it.
