Hi, hope someone can offer some words of wisdom on this;

I bought a SB3 at the beginning of the year and managed to get my hands
on a QNAP TS-101 with Slimserver pre-installed. Installing all my music
was fine and for the first couple of months everything ran smoothly.
But over the course of the last month or so the response time of the
SB3 from the remote is getting slower and slower - to the point that I
can press power on the remote and then make a cup of tea before the SB3
responds and turns on and starts playing.

I am 100% convinced that it is to do with the TS-101 as I can see the
HDD and LAN indicators going crazy trying to respond. I use the NAS to
primarily provide the music for the SB3, but also use it to backup my
laptop occasionally - in total there is only 50Gb being used with over
130Gb of free space. The NAS seems to respond fine when I open explorer
to view files or play a video off it on my laptop.

I did move the music directory on the NAS from the original default
location as I couldn't get the Replicator software to 'Monitor' to the
original location (/ext/mnt/music) and keep the music upto date with my
laptop. Slimserver then started to see two copies of each track,
although it wouldn't be able to play one of them and would have an
error opening the track. I got rid of this problem for the most part by
ensuring that the first music store was deleted and then re-scanning. It
was after this I think the SB3 started to respond slower and slower.

There doesn't appear to be any system tools with the QNAP to defrag its
drive and Win XP won't allow me to point its defragging tool at the NAS.
I could format the whole NAS and start again, but I'm guessing that I
would lose the Slimserver software, and I'm not sure if the problem
won't reoccur.

I have tried to access the 'www.progressiveav.com' pages to see if
there is anything of use, but they don't seem to come up.

The problem is starting to become really frustrating now, not least
because I have become used to it working smoothly and the two being a
great combination of kit.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
