I run Fedora FC 5 on a fairly modest machine (Epia Via M1000/
1Ghz/500MB), so this is very interesting indeed.

I've been quite disappointed with Perl performance. Also when Triode
looked over the performance stats from my server I think he was quite
surprised at how long things took.

perl -v only reports 5.8.8, so I don't know if I've got the latest
version, but as I did a complete Yum update only a month or so ago, I
assume I have. Any idea how I check?

Also, what's the cleanest way to revert/downgrade? I couldn't see a Yum
option, so I've downloaded the 5.8.8-4 rpm, and I was assuming I'd have
to uninstall the current one then re-install the older version.

Cheers,

Richard
